Hi, I’m Bry — the owner and heartbeat behind Balanced Paws Pet Care. Animals have always been the center of my world, long before Balanced Paws existed. I stepped into grooming at just 15 years old, falling in love with the hands-on, trust-based connection you build with every pet. Those early years taught me the most important lesson I still carry today: comfort, patience, and understanding matter more than perfection.

As I grew in the grooming world, I noticed how deeply behavior and body language affect the grooming experience. That curiosity pushed me to learn more — first through hands-on work, then through formal education. I expanded into behavior, eventually earning my Master Dog Trainer certification. From there, nutrition naturally followed. I wanted to support pets fully: inside, outside, physically, emotionally, and holistically. Becoming a Certified Pet Dietician allowed me to give families well-rounded, practical guidance that actually works for real-life pets.

Those pieces — grooming, behavior, and nutrition — became the foundation for everything I do.

Balanced Paws Pet Care was built from the ground up with a simple mission: provide comfort-focused, judgment-free care for every pet, no matter their age, size, temperament, or species. From nervous dogs to spicy cats, from seniors to first-timers, I wanted a place where pets who usually struggle could finally feel safe and understood.

With the help of my biggest supporter and my other half, Devan, and an incredibly supportive community, that dream grew from mobile appointments and pop-ups into our boutique-style salon at SOF Market in Leonardtown. Today, we welcome dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and even the occasional lizard, offering care that’s practical, patient, and centered entirely around each pet’s comfort and needs.

Rescue work is a huge part of my story as well. Through ARF and my own foster program, the Muttley Crue, I’ve helped countless animals find confidence, healing, and forever homes. Every foster teaches me something new, and those lessons show up in how I groom, how I train, and how I support each family that walks through our doors.

Balanced Paws isn’t about breed-standard perfection or high-polish show grooming. It’s about gentle handling, honest expectations, safety, and making each pet feel seen and supported. There is — and always will be — no such thing as a bad dog… or cat… or critter here.

Every day, I get to do what I love: help pets feel safe, help families feel supported, and be part of a community built on trust, compassion, and understanding. Thank you for letting me be a small part of your pet’s journey. It’s truly the honor of my life.
